A short video will be shown outlining the general history of the origins of the Jewish people and their faith. (Hint: Peruse the first 5 books of the Bible and the Apocryphal books of Maccabees.)

August 2 – Topic: Judaism: Terms Texts, and Testimony                                                         What is the TaNaKh? What does Kosher mean? What are some important symbols? What are some important rituals? A vast amount of information will be squeezed into this evening. The option to explore “texts” in more depth is being kept open.

August 9 – Topic: Judaism: Not So Unlike US
Christianity and Judaism share common roots. Commonality as well as differences will be explored. How areas of Judaism correspond with the 5 areas of passion currently engaged in our congregation will be explored as well.
