Combined Worship Service and Cantata

How very good and pleasant it is when kindred live together in unity! (Psalm 133:1 NRSV)

The Trinity Lutheran Church and the Canton Church of the Brethren joined together on December 10, 2017, for worship and a Christmas Cantata. The worship service included elements from both traditions, including communion. The combined choirs of the two congregations, along with special guest musicians and narrators, were able to share the Christmas story in song and scripture. A time of fellowship was held following the service with Pastor Micah Garnett (Trinity) and Pastor Kevin Kessler (COB) sharing insights from their respective traditions and engaging those gathered in conversation.

The event was warmly appreciated, so much so that a member of the Trinity congregation expressed: “Our two congregations should do this again, and join together for a picnic this summer.”
